This is an example itinerary suggested by the BeBlue skippers who are experts in the navigation area. The route can be planned on the needs of the group before departure or during navigation.
Day 1: Check-in
Check-in available from 5 p.m. at the embarkation Marina. After the technical check-in and a short presentation of the boat, you can take your seat in the cabins and board the galley before setting sail.
Day 2
After a relaxing breakfast in one the cafes in the centre of Portimao or on board, we head south towards the Atlantic Ocean through the river Arade. Avlor bay is waiting for us to have our lunch break. Avlor is an optimal anchor point where you can relax, enjoy the Portuguese sun and explore the first part of this suggestive coastline. In the early evening, we raise sail towards west and Lagos, one of the most visited cities in Algarve, full of beaches, fascinating rock formations, bars, restaurants and a lively nightlife.
Day 3
Leaving Lagos, you can admire the fantastic golden rocks of Ponta da Piedade before reaching Punta do Castelo, carried by a calm wind. The near city of Albufeira, only a few miles away, is the ideal place to spend our evening. A wide pedestrian area full of characteristic cafes will give you the possibility of losing yourself into the typical Portuguese live music.
Day 4
We suggest you to fill the boat water tank, which is practical and cheap to do in the docks of Albufeira. The boat heads for Culatra, an island at the border with the Spanish territorial waters, which will welcome you after only 22 miles with its uncontaminated nature and the famous area of Ria Formosa, magic for its variety of fauna and flora. Here there are no cars and it is possible to walk barefoot around the entire island, to feel more connected to nature and savor its colors, sounds and perfumes. After a wonderful sunset in the bay, don’t miss the fish delicacies of "Rui" (located along the beach).
Day 5
We head back west towards Vilamoura Marina, which will hosts us for the night in its luxury context. During the day, you should enjoy a bath at anchor nearby the white sandy beaches along the coast. Stylish cocktail bars and a chic night life will offer you some totally relaxing hours in Vilamoura.
Day 6
On the way back, we will have fun sailing close-hauled between Vilamoura and Portimao. The Gulf of Ferragudo will reward you with an anchorage under the stars, to enjoy a good glass of Portuguese wine on the beach at "Club Nau" and conclude a wonderful sailing day in fine style.
Day 7
Sweet awakening in the total relax of the Ferragudo bay. Swims and last souvenir photos before going back to the base of Portimao at 18:00 with overnight stay in the port included. The Portimao marina will welcome us again with its architectural and typical local beauties.
